Intellectual property

Trademark and patent registration, licensing, and enforcement against infringement.

Trademarks, patents and designs are registered with the Department of Industry under the Patent, Design and Trademark Act 2022, which remains the governing statute. Nepal operates a first-to-file trademark system, so an unregistered mark used in the market can be vulnerable to a third-party application.

We advise on clearance and registration, the licensing and assignment of rights, and enforcement where a mark or design is being infringed.
